Home Sweet Home

Aren't we strange creatures at times, can't wait to get away on a break or holiday, but are as pleased as punch to get back home, oh to sleep in my own bed, drink my own coffee, sit in my own garden......................?????
Is it just me!!!!!!!
Oh we had such a wonderful week away, lots & lots of relaxation, which was sooooo needed, had done a lot of sewing work leading up to our holiday, so as you can imagine i really vegged while we were away, it was the best
I want to share some lovely pics i managed to take, in between my incredibly lazy bouts, i mean i had planned to 'almost' finish my blanket, but it just DID NOT happen, bliss !!

We woke up to this every morning, look at the colour of that water, blue, blue, blue... so stunning

She just can't resist that water.
It was quite cool that day but Ella has got to get the crocs n socs off, her toes neeeeeeed the sea :)
I guess i was like that at her age, don't think they feel
the cold at all, & when i say cold i mean Cold.
We're talking Irish Atlantic coast here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is lovely though feeling that lovely salt water between your toes.

Ballmalloe house was a must visit location, the grounds are so pretty, the shop & cafe a joy!  & the beautiful kitchen garden, mmmm just lovely.

Had a lovely lunch of cheddar & leek tart followed by the yummiest lemon cake ever with homemade lemonade & coffee of course. We really did enjoy our break.......................

So today was a Big wash day, our accomadation did not have a washing machine & there was NO WAY i was going to hand wash even the smallest item of clothing, so i must have done at least five full loads of washing today. The weather was sweet, a perfect drying day, perfect excuse to sit in the sun & keep an eye on the clothes line

Also did a wee bit of crochet, drank lots of coffee..........................

Read through a real nice gardening book i received from a friend, its quite old but full of beautiful illustration & handy tips, God knows i need lots of those when it comes to gardening...............

And did a little check on my own little patch......................................................

I am amazed at the difference one week makes..........................................................

Pretty, sweet flowers & veggie patch looks almost over grown, i guess i'll be harvesting some things soon, but i'm such a novice i'm not really sure if different things are ready or not, any advice would be so appreciated!!
I have parsnips, leeks, onions, peas & beans...... I guess a lot will also be learned through trial & error.

Here's a peek of another blanket i'm dabbling with at the moment, was given the yarn for free, not really my favorite colors, but i think it'll make a cozy blankie for the car, what do you think????

Its a really chunky yarn & quite soft, so even though the colors aren't my choice i will enjoy wrapping that over my legs on evening car rides, which i intend to have a lot of now that the girls are off school for the next two months. Lots of lazy mornings & garden days & trips to the beach :)

I love the summer hols....

I decided to put together a mosiac of some June stuff,  well Bethany put it together for me, I'm a total novice with this but she's a good teacher, hope you like........................

Enjoy your evening, do leave a comment, i really love getting them, its so lovely hearing from such encouraging ladies out there, bless you
Lots of Love

Welcome back!
Wow, those photos are just blissful- all so lush and green.
I think that blanket will be perfect for the car, too.
Well done, Bethany for the photo mosaic - it looks fab. (must teach myself to do more clever things on the computer)

Gorgeous pics of your holiday. The blanket will be great for in the car esp when the weather gets colder. Love your mosaic! x

Timing isn't right for me & my sweet family to vacation right now... but your photos were like a mini vaca... so peaceful and wonderful! I think I am with your daughter... and would dip my toes in the sea if given the opportunity.

I so enjoyed your holiday photos, so peaceful, restful and green. Ha, little people seem to love the water no matter what the weather. Sea air is so good for the soul in my opinion. I always feel better after a good wander by the water.
Your little vege patch is coming along very nicely and I'm sure you enjoy eating your produce.
I love your June mosaic, such a lovely reminder of some of the things you've been doing.

Lovely holiday photos - looks a great place to visit. And is it wierd that I like your colourful washing on the line photo too? With boys you never have quite that much prettiness to hang out! x

Beautiful, beautiful pictures. They remind me that I've never been to Ireland and I really, really must go, such stunning scenery! You're not alone though, I definitely appreciate being home again after a stint away. Home is where heart, good cuppas and comfy beds are!
