Tah-Dahhhhhhhhh One down...........to go!!!
Oh boy was i determined to finish this week.....................so last night I donned pj's, woolley socks, choc, blankie, hook & a good movie..............& by george I did it.............yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
60 rounds & i was done, its huge, can't imagine how big it would be after 80 or my goodness 100 rounds. For those taking part in the challenge 'YOU GO' keep hookin out those rounds :D.
I decided on a very simple border, one round of single crochet followed by a row of picot in cream, all stitched on the outer side of the stitch to prevent curling edges,(just a little hint i picked up at Lucy's blog Attic 24 )
This blanket is going to some friends as a housewarming gift, hope they'll like it & get years of coziness from it.............................
All i need to do now is find something pretty to wrap it in. Ohhh i love giving gifts, don't you, its the look on a face, the surprise, the smile, the love mmmmmmmmmmmmm can't wait!
More creativeness went on this week as the weather wasn't great & i was just in the mood for making, like Rachel was saying in her post today, making makes her happy, it def works for me, how bout you?
What brightens your day, what lifts your head, what cheers your heart?????????????
This is a wee project i'm also at, its small & easy to pick up or leave down, kind of restful...........
There's a bit of stitching to do on this yet but hey it makes my day :D
Then of course there's the smock I made for Ella....................Look At Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Such a poser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she def loves the camera........... got that from her dad.............. i'm very camera shy......... yuk, in fact i hate posing for photos.
Ok so now my house is about to be invaded by teens from our church youth group, yeahhhhhhhhhhh I don't know weather to laugh or cry, maybe i'll just take refuge in my bedroom...............yes thats what i'll do!!!
Oh, oh, oh before i go have a look at this...........................
I grew some carrots, my first crop.....................................do i have green fingers or WHAT!!!! Tee hee.
So i'm off to hide now......... you all have a great evening & dooooooooooooo leave a comment
Lots of love & millions of kissesxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Karen

Stunning. Great colors, too. Can't believe the size of that carrot. Your girls are such cuties.
Lovely blanket, yummy ice cream colours. You've done a fabulous job and it must have taken forever to get round that border! Pretty, pretty girls too!

Oh wow I adore your colour combo. LOVELY! Really lovely. Love the little house as well. How did you do the corners on your pcot edge cos mine still curled really badly and I am sure it was my corners that were at fault. xx
Hi Hazel
I just did single crochet stitch & 2 chain in corner, didn't try to picot in corner in case i messed it up :D

Gorgeous, gorgeous blanket. What a wonderful gift to make for someone. The colours look so beautiful together.
Your handstitching is lovely too and I love projects you can pick up for a few minutes.
That is some carrot you've grown. Nothing beats home grown veges.

Wow it is totally, totally gorgeous!! What a huge effort - all those rounds. I adore the edging - it finishes it off perfectly. Absolutely love the purple smock too - boy you're clever! And as for the carrot - well I'm totally jealous. 4 years we've been trying to grow carrots and we've never succeeded in anything longer than 3cm after all the effort! Have a wonderful weekend. See you again soon.
Your friends are so lucky to be receiving such a gorgeous gift! I love the simple picot edging...finishes it off perfectly!
Jill :)x

Karen your blanket is stunning and very generous of you to give as a gift. An amazing carrot as well.

Lovely blanket. Really pretty colours. xx
Oh that blanket is just fantastic! Congratulations on your hard work! I love your applique. Would love to create something like that but wouldnt know where to start!
Another colourful and uplifting post! Thank you. Mandy :)
I love your crochet blanket Karen...and the receivers of your beautiful gift are just so lucky!
Ella looks absolutely beautiful and your carrots are fabulous...they just seem to taste so much better when you grow your own, don't they?
Wishing you a great weekend,
Susan x
hello,
lovely crochetplanket!!!!!!!
hugs Conny
Oh goodness!!!! This is so freakin CUTE! I love it. Now, I am jealous. I wish I had made a "girly" one. I am so much better with coming up with ideas for little girls, which is why I forced my giant granny to be for a little boy. SOOOOO CUTE :D
Also-- thank you for the award. I think you have me confused with someone more "tech savvy". I have no idea how to get/give awards! But I wish I did :)
Love the blanket. ♥ the embroidery. Your daughter is cut as a button! And that carrot!! I would say you definitely have a green thumb! Good luck with the house full of girls :)
Your daughter is C U T E as a button!
Wow! Your blanket turned out beautifully and is gonna be a fantastic gift! Is the challenge for 100 rounds? Yikes! My pillows are 16 rows. I might give a giant granny a go very soon. Maybe a few more pillows first. I'm glad I finally figured it out. There are so many patterns out there that just don't make any sense. I'm pattern illiterate anyways, but honestly, I think some are much more difficult than they need to be. I'm not sure if I will get the African Flower or not ... will try a few more times and see what comes of it.
I'm sure you found lots to do while you were hiding out. Maybe even munching on yummy carrots. :) Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy
This blanket is just gorgeous! I'm working on a similar one, but the colors in yours are just fantastic!
God Bless,
LeeAnn
